    Dear Tumblr friends,
One year and three thousand miles ago, I was in a very different place:  a city that never felt like home, separated by the width of North America from most of my closest friends.  Even worse, I was wrapped up with an individual that would break my heart not once, not twice, but three times (first on a romantic level, next by being a terrible friend, and lastly, by unapologetically stealing a project from me).  In other words, it was a sad, dark time.  There were many lonely days and so many moments when I questioned my ability to survive until the next instant.  As silly as it might sound, I found solace in Tumblr.  I loved searching the internet for new art and I was excited about the new friends I was meeting via the blog world.  All of your messages and submissions made me feel so much better about everything.
Now I’m on the other side of the country, reunited with my friends and the city I love.  Life couldn’t be more different.  It’s becoming harder and harder for me to find time for Tumblr.  And as overdramatic as it might seem, I can’t help but be reminded of the painful moments of last year every time I log in to Tumblr.  So…I’m taking a break from Frightened By Bees.  It might be a month, six months, a year…however it long it takes to flip the reset button and find myself inspired again.   In the meantime, I will still be contributing to my other blog Swap Meet.
Thank you so much for all of your reblogs and kind messages.  If you would like to be real-life friends or just talk about art, please feel free to email me:  vonlonewolf@gmail.com.

P.S. The painting above has been my desktop background (both on my wretched work pc and on my personal macbook) for years…a painting by one of my favorite living artists, Kime Buzzelli.  Not only is she a talented visual artist (she’s done collaborations with Vans and Urban Decay, to name a few), she’s also an amazing style icon.  Formerly the owner of Show Pony (a boutique in Echo Park, L.A.), she’s now the wardrobe stylist for the new 90210.
